Nolan Family Session

On Sunday October 7th I did my first family shoot.  I must say I was a bit nervous going into it being that most my experience has been in expressionistic, event, or concert photography.  The skill in obtaining a great photograph is much different when you’re doing portraits or family sessions.  I’ve also found that once people around you start realizing you take photos you start getting propositions that are quite beneficial for both parties.  Your close friends or family can receive quality high resolution photos while you yourself gain another skill and a different type of experience to add to the abilities you have as a photographer.

This session took place at Tower Grove Park which offered a different array of backdrops to photograph.  This family in particular were very interested in making these photos the best as possible so it was fun to throw out places that would look good for a picture while getting them involved to decide what they think would look best.  By the end of the shoot we were all walking through the park picking out different spots we all thought looked like good photo ops.  It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I look forward to the next opportunity like this that comes along.

If you or your family are in need of portraits please feel free to contact me for a price quote at  I do on location or home shoots but whatever we come up with has to suit the vision of how you would like your photos to turn out, that is my ultimate goal.
