Every year I try to photograph at least one show at every major concert venue in the metro St. Louis area, this show was the first one this year that I was able to cover at the Sheldon Concert Hall. If you have never experienced this venue I strongly suggest you make a point to catch a performance at this awesome concert hall. Acoustic and folk artists, like the Wailin’ Jenny’s, are prefect to see in this space. Below are some things I enjoyed most about this show.
- The Wailin’ Jenny’s are perfect for this venue as the acoustics are amazing, the harmony these three ladies delivered was just bone chillingly clean as their voices cut through the crowd and up to the balcony.
- The crowd mostly consisted of 40-50 + year olds who where were very excited to see the Jenny’s as they it was their first time playing St. Louis in seven or eight years.
- It was comforting to hear the Jenny’s talk fondly about our city, as the crowd shouted out instructing them to hit up Pappy’s for some BBQ which happens a lot from St. Louis crowds…it’s kind of funny.
- There is in fact no one named Jenny is this band.
