Photographing at the Duck Room has proved to be an interesting experience each time I attend a show there. It appears that the artist that play there always have very devout fan base and seem to attract a big enough crowd to fill the venue. Willie Watson was exactly that type of experience.
Having never heard of this artist before I assumed it was just another folk influenced/indie singer song writer like the countless others who have flooded the genre over the last five years. In actuality I found Mr. Watson to be pleasantly surprising, often sounding like he had a very heavy Bob Dylan influence. The crowd also consisted of many women whom seemed to be in awe as his music filled the room. It’s always good to find something new or to walk into a show blindly only to walk away with a unique experience. It was a great evening of music to capture in photos with a room filled with eclectic fans.
