STS9, or Sound Tribe Sector 9, was a show that had a lot of buzz around it and I had no clue who this act was, I had heard the name before but never listened to them. A buddy of mine described me as electronic jam music, which was pretty spot on. I was pretty stoked when I saw a set up for a full band on stage and that’s exactly what this act is. A group of very talented musicians that blend together aspects of new wave jazz, funk, groove, rock, and electronic music to bring you the spectacle that is STS9. It was a great show to catch and it was freaking packed, I’d be shocked if it wasn’t sold out by the end of the night. It wasn’t hard to see that this act has a huge fan base, as they took an intermission and set out to play two unique sets. I ducked out at the end of the first set but the crowd was very excited to get back in the venue to see what the band had in store for them next. I appreciate that type of enthusiasm about music and I left respecting this act.
