Bone Thugs-N-Harmony came through the STL about a week ago on Sunday, March 20th to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of their hit song “Crossroads” from their 1995 release titled E. 1999 Eternal. It was amazing to see how much of an impact that song had on music, as the venue was sold out and packed with fans completely ecstatic to finally get a chance to see this group in concert. Leading up to this show I had a conversation with someone on 90’s music in general and how special that times was.
The 90’s was this magical time where both Rap and Rock genres were breaking the mold and writing songs that addressed things that artists had really never expressed through music. It is one of the only times that I’m aware of where the same fans of rock groups like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden were also listening to rap artists like Snoop Dog, Dr. Dre, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In fact “Crossroads” in my opinion is a perfect example of a song released that cut through genres in the ’90’s. I felt very fortunate to cover this show and I hope fans of Bone Thugs get a chance to catch a date on this monumental tour.
