O.A.R is one of those acts that has been around for 20 years now, and has accumulated such a devout fan base that in most cities they pretty much sell out each venue they play. I am a huge Pearl Jam fan and that is the only other act I have experienced the has the same level of fandom that O.A.R. has. People travel to see this act, they trade stories of past shows, they debate on what songs they will hear changed up in the set lists from night to night, and they like to speculate on what cover songs the band might whip out. The fans in my opinion are one of the best qualities of an O.A.R. show, for me engaging in conversation with many of them got me just as pumped to start photographing. I had never given this band the time of day in the past and now after covering them twice I can sadly say I feel I horribly overlooked them over the years. The lighting was great, the energy in the room was even better, and now I have added yet another artist to my list of artists to check out on Spotify. Really this show is a prime example of what I enjoy about concerts and I wouldn’t even call myself a fan of the band, and that right there is what makes music so beautiful!
