In handling house photographer responsibilities for two venues this month has often put me in a situation where I’m covering two shows in one night. This was one of those nights and honestly I was kind of going through the motions, taking pictures quicker than I had time to remember what it was that I just snapped. Lany at Delmar Hall was a night I’m still not quite sure what to make of. I can’t say that the music had much to offer me personally, and I feel it is a younger demographic that this act appeals to. They did have a great lighting display with a projection screen that switched between video footage and graphic affects throughout their set, which provided for some interesting photo opps. Maybe at some point I’ll have time to digest this artists music, but for now this night was just about fulfilling duties as a house photographer for a great new venue in town. It was fun to shoot, and that’s about all I have to say about this show. Although opening act Transviolet put on a performance that was just enchanting, lead vocalist Sarah McTaggart is a front women that takes the stage with force and commands your attention. I’m looking forward to seeing how their career progresses.
